Project Runway Fashion Startup debuts on Lifetime

Katia Beauchamp, Gary Wassner, Rebecca Minkoff and Christine Hunsicker.

There has been quite a demand for entrepreneurial reality television made popular by hit series like “Shark Tank,” “The Profit” and “West Texas Investors Club,” in where entrepreneurs pitch their ideas and seek out help for their budding or already existing ventures. One of the most popular and recurring product categories on most of these shows is fashion, so it’s no surprise that the top Emmy-awarding winning show on fashion “Project Runway” spins off with it’s own pitch style version “Project Runway: Fashion Startup.”

“Project Runway: Fashion Startup” will debut on the Lifetime Network Oct.20 at 10:30p.m and will feature fashionprenuers pitching their ideas in order to secure capital from the investors.

The investor panel will include Rebecca Minkoff; Katia Beauchamp, cofounder and chief executive officer of beauty retailer Birchbox; Christine Hunsicker, tech marketplace maven and founder and ceo of plus-size clothing rental site Gwynnie Bee; and Gary Wassner, ceo of Hilldun Corp. and chairman of Interluxe Holdings LLC. Special appearances will be made by Tommy Hilfiger, Jenny Fleiss, cofounder of SoulCycle, Julie Rice, cofounder and at Rent the Runway, and Maria Hatzistefanis, founder of the Rodial Group.

In addition, we are also proud to announce our very own founder and president Anibal Marin will be pitching and showcasing the Auxilry interchangeable shirt button system on the series premiere this fall. “We live in great times in where entrepreneurs have more opportunities than ever to excel, and “Project Runway: Fashion Startup” is one of those. This season will be an exciting season of great people, with great ideas in front of some prominent fashion industry investors,” said Anibal Marin.
